Steel updates

  • For the first time, specialized steels according to ship-building specifications are included into the Database. US ABS steels for various applications are added, from ordinary- and high-strength hull structural steel, to steel for pressure vessels and tubes, to forgings and castings. Also, cross-references to US and Japanese standard steels are added.
  • European welded steel tubes, tubes for precision applications, seamless and welded cold drawn tubes, and wire products are updated according to the latest Euronorm specifications.
  • Czech steel descriptions are upgraded with mechanical properties and heat treatment guidelines.

  • US AMS steels are updated with specifications for special alloys: corrosion and heat-resistant iron alloys, nickel alloys, and cobalt alloys, in the form of sheet, strip, plate, and forgings.
  • A number of alloyed steels according to air quality specs is also added.
  • Various Indian ferroalloys and iron castings, such as grey iron, spheroidal, nodular graphite, austenitic iron and abrasion-resistant iron castings are added to the Database.

  • Major update is made on German copper alloys, according to DIN 17900. Over 200 materials are updated or added.
  • Russian (GOST) specifications for aluminum are inserted to the Database for the first time, starting with unalloyed aluminum, wrought and casting aluminum alloys, and aluminum alloys filler wires.
  • French nickel alloys, nickel-molybdenum, iron-nickel, and nickel-molybdenum-chromium-alloys are updated as well.
