Please read this information carefully. By accessing or browsing KEY to METALS Web site and/or by using any KEY to METALS software, including free software and demo, you agree to these Terms of Use and the associated liability disclaimers.

The usage of all accounts is monitored and as such KEY to METALS reserves the right to withdraw access to the database according to the parameters defined within the terms of use, without refund.

KEY to METALS reserves the right to change its terms and conditions at any time without prior notice.

If you do not accept the Terms of Use stated here, please do not use any KEY to METALS reference data.

Any disputes arising from the interpretation of the Terms of Use shall fall within the jurisdiction of courts in Zurich.

CD Edition

One copy of KEY to METALS CD Edition may either be used by a single person who uses the software personally on one or more computers, or installed on a single workstation used non-simultaneously by multiple people, but not both.

Web Edition

One license of KEY to METALS Web Edition may either be used by a single person who uses the software personally on one or more computers, or used on a single workstation non-simultaneously by multiple people, but not both.

Fair Usage Policy

The purpose of the fair usage policy is to ensure KEY to METALS is used for its intended use as an informational resource and as such protects the ownership of the data contained within and the potential of mass replication of the KEY to METALS data. For instances where such needs are defined KEY to METALS will assist in providing an alternative solution to the user.

The maximum quantity of viewed pages should not exceed 2000 pages per month per license.

Transferability and Cancellation Policy

This license is not transferable to third person without written approval from Key to Metals AG.

Cancellation of license is not possible.

Disclaimer of Warranty and Liability

KEY TO METALS AG DOES NOT ASSUME ANY WARRANTY FOR THE PERFORMANCE, MERCHANTABILITY OR ACCURACY OF THE SOFTWARE, DATABASE OR ACCOMPANYING FILES OR ANY OTHER WARRANTY, WHETHER EXPRESSED OR IMPLIED. KEY TO METALS AG EXCLUDES ALL LIABILITY TO THE EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW. IN PARTICULAR, KEY TO METALS AG IS NOT LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT OR SUBSEQUENT DAMAGES DUE TO USE OF THE SOFTWARE, DATABASE OR THE ACCOMPANYING FILES.

The information contained in the KEY to METALS Database is carefully reviewed by engineers before publication and is intended to help the metallurgical professional conduct research on material properties. Although Key to Metals AG technical professionals perform continuous and multiple checks on the validity of the data, neither Key to Metals AG nor any of its affiliates around the world make any warranty, whether expressed or implied. Key to Metals AG or its affiliates assume especially no warranty as to the performance or merchantability of the database or the accuracy of the information contained herein. Key to Metals AG and all affiliates shall not be liable for any type of damages resulting from the use of this information. The user assumes all risk and liability in connection with the use of the KEY to METALS database and its information. In case of technical malfunction of the software due to unlawful intent or gross negligence of Key to Metals AG, any liability of Key to Metals AG will be limited exclusively to product replacement.

Please keep in mind that metal properties may vary significantly and can depend on the supplier and supplier's internal standards, heat treatment, dimensions and other parameters. After the metal material selection has been made, it is the user's responsibility to contact the supplier and to check material's properties and suitability for a particular application. Therefore, no warranty of fitness for a particular purpose is offered.

In addition, the physical or mechanical specifications in the database are only approximations. Therefore, maximum caution needs to be exercised in using those parameters and even then, they need to be considered as starting points, not definite values. The data is intended to help qualified engineers find relevant information while saving time and effort as they investigate the anticipated behavior of specific materials. As such, this data is to be viewed as a starting point for further, more exhaustive investigation and should not be relied upon for making definitive or final engineering, product design purchasing, or application decisions.
